Friday 1st July 2011 - Ladies Moonlight Walk
On Friday 1st July, ladies from across Bradford donned their fancy dress outfits to walk in our very first Moonlight Walk.
A fun packed warm up session prepared the ladies prior to leaving from our premises on Smith Lane. Escorted by a team of male marshals and two community constables, the ladies walked along the planned route down to Lister Park, walked around Cartwright Hall then back to the Centre for hot drinks and bacon butties.
We wanted the evening to be fun and it was. There were some fabulous outfits, lots of hats, feather boas, even bras with flashing lights. It was a great success and we will certainly be adding the walk to our annual event list.
We rely on donations and proceeds from fundraising events to help us provide support services to over 3,500 people each year. Over £5,000 was raised from the event which is fantastic. The money will help to improve the Wellbeing of our service users and we are extremely grateful to all the ladies, their sponsors and volunteers who helped to make the event a success. Well done everyone!
